clubgolf stage 3
Stage 3 is a two-year course comprising 60 hours of coaching
in each year
and therefore requires a significant increase
in time-commitment on the part
of participating children.
This course builds on the golf skills and knowledge developed
in Stage 1 & 2, adding in Tee Shots and Short, Medium
and Long
Iron play. A significant amount of video swing
analysis is also included, and
children will learn to associate
the shape and outcome of their shots with
elements of their
golf swing.
Participating children will already have attained a CONGU
handicap and will
see themselves as improving golfers.
There will normally be an element of
talent identification
in selecting children for participation in Stage 3 and
the
delivering professional will be expected to liaise
with those who have
coached children in earlier stages
to make suitable arrangements for selection.
Who delivers Stage 3 coaching?
Stage 3 is delivered by PGA professionals qualified to
Level 2 or higher who have also completed a two day Stage 3 Orientation
Programme delivered by the PGA
and SGU.
