Level 3 & Stage 3 Orientation

In order to be able to coach clubgolf Stage 3 and Area Coaching, coaches
must be PGA Professionals qualified to Level 2 or higher. In addition they
must attend the Stage 3 Orientation course of two days duration and be
deemed suitable by the course tutors.

Each Orientation course will take place over a day and a half (held over two consecutive days) at various venues. Please check the Information for Pro's page for mor info, course dates and application form.

The PGA will offer 50 CPD points to each coach taking part. Coaches nominated by Areas to undertake the Orientation will be fully funded by the SGU.

Following the orientation of coaches there are a number of actions:

   • Coaches orientated at clubgolf Stage 3 can either run full programmes

at their own golf clubs or utilise certain parts of the programme to best

meet their own needs. The programme and resource is flexible.

   • Coaches orientated at Stage 3 Performance will have been identified by

their SGU Area. They will be asked by their Areas to implement elements

of the coaching programme into their Area Coaching. They can also run

their own development/performance programme at their own golf facility.

If you are a qualified PGA Professional and would like more information or to

apply for the next upcoming courses (normally held in January), please contact your local clubgolf Regional Manager or Ron Wallace, Coach Education Manager Scotland on ron.wallace@pga.org.uk or 01764 661840.
