Cameron receives his putter from ladies' Captain Elsie Ronald

Cameron’s hole in one

Ten year old Cameron Ronald from Dunaverty Golf Club became the third clubgolfer this summer to celebrate a hole in one.

Cameron had been competing in the club’s Children’s Competition, run by the ladies section, when his tee shot at the second rolled straight into the hole.  He had been paired in the competition with two other junior members, William McKinnon & Donald McCallum. When they couldn’t find Cameron’s ball, William suggested they look in the hole...and there it was!

Cameron was one of 24 juniors who took part in the clubgolf programme.  Starting at local schools it continuing with the Stage 1 Year 1 programme run by Florence Chrystie and Ailie MacBrayne at Dunaverty Golf Club.

Ladies Captain, Mrs Elsie Ronald, presented Cameron with a new putter in recognition of his achievement. Cameron, who was thrilled with his putter, said he was thoroughly enjoying his golf and was playing regularly with his friends.

Asked what he thought of his new club he said that it was really good, quite ‘different’ to play with. “The ball goes a lot faster.
