Tulliallan GC clubgolfers receiving their awards and certificates

Tulliallan Golf Club family evening

Around 50 youngsters, parents and representatives from Tulliallan Golf Club attended a family evening this week to celebrate its junior programme success.

Twenty eight boys and girls aged eight to 13 enjoyed 10 lessons from volunteer the Club’s volunteer coaches in May and June this year. They also had the opportunity to play in 3-hole competitions on the club’s practice course during the summer holidays.

The joint winners of this competition were Steven Michael of Larbert and Keiran Jackson of Kincardine.   David Hedgecock, the Club’s Match Secretary, presented the prizes, and also gave certificates and clubgolf mementoes or golf balls to the participants.

The Club is extremely grateful for the support it has received from Tulliallan Police College, which offered the use of its indoor facilities for practice during poor weather, and prepared the certificates; and to clubgolf for its support in training the volunteer coaches and for the donation of gifts.

Sandy Wilson, Team Leader for Youth Development at Tulliallan, said: “Particular thanks should go to John Nealon and his team of coaches and other helpers from the club who so willingly give of their time.

“We are delighted that the programme has gone well and look forward to developing it further next year, with more opportunities for the current cohort of clubgolfers, and with a new group of 8-9 year-old beginners.

“We also hope that those now in their third year of the programme will become Junior members of the Club.”
