The launch this year of the Dunfermline Building Society Junior Masters

Give your juniors the chance to play Gleneagles

A number of places are still available for the Regional Finals of the 2007 Dunfermline Building Society Junior Masters, in association with clubgolf partners,  SGU and SLGA.  Scotland’s largest junior handicap event  is open to all SGU affiliated golf clubs, for boys and girls aged 16 or under.

The five Regional Finals take place in July and August (see table below) and you still have time to enter junior members from your club.

You can nominate up to two boys and two girls, by choosing the most recent junior competition as the qualifying round, or simply selecting your junior boy and girl champions and runners-up.  It’s up to you or your Junior Convenor to decide your club’s qualifying criteria.

The Regional Finals are scheduled below:

* SOUTH:             Peebles, Thursday 19th July

* CENTRAL:         Stirling, Monday 23rd July – LAST FEW SPACES AVAILABLE

* EAST:                Dunfermline, Wednesday 25th July - FULL

* NORTH:             Kingussie, Wednesday 8th August

* WEST:               Ralston, Monday 13th August

To enter your nominated junior members, simply select the Regional Final date and venue suitable (1st and 2nd choices) and complete an entry form available from the SGU Events Department.

The leading boys and girls at each Regional Final will qualify for the Scottish Final which takes place at the Gleneagles Hotel, Queen’s Course on Sunday 7th October, offering a day to remember for the young players and their families.

Dunfermline Building Society are Official Partners of the Scottish Golf Union and have invested £100,000 in junior golf in Scotland over the next two years. Their support is invaluable to the future development of grass roots golf in Scotland.

Club secretaries can request copies of the entry form by calling the SGU Events Department on 01382 549504 or by e-mailing:  events@scottishgolfunion.org
