Eyemouth Open day
May 2010
Eyemouth Golf Club, which in two years expanded its junior section from 12 to 75 after beginning clubgolf coaching and offering free membership to under 12s, is organizing an Open Day to increase its membership.
The club has targeted a 20 percent increase in numbers when they open their doors on Saturday 8 May.
During the day the course and club house will be open for visitors and golfers of all abilities. There are special offers on green fees in the morning and coaching, teaching and some ‘fun’ events are available in the afternoon. For that one day only there is a special offer on membership. So, if you are a ‘returning’ golfer or a complete novice come along and enjoy one of the best courses in the area. Families are especially welcome
Thanks to an award from the Postcode Lottery, the club’s junior section has been able to buy new equipment to assist in the development of junior coaching. Central to this has been the purchase of golf clubs designed especially for junior players. This means that anyone can come along and be sure that they are being taught with equipment just right for their age or stage – right or left handed.
Junior Coaching began last month on Thursday evenings and will also be available during the Summer Holidays.
Looking further ahead, the Scottish Girls under 18 Championship will be held at Eyemouth Golf Club from July 12 until July 17. This is a superb opportunity to see the best Scottish Girl Golfers in action over a course which is sure to be challenging for all competitors.
