Watch: ClubGolf at the Scottish Hydro Challenge With the curtain coming down on the domestic golf season, we look back to the summer when ClubGolf volunteers enjoyed a day to remember playing with the stars of the European Challenge Tour at Spey Valley.
Sixty ClubGolf volunteer coaches in the vanguard of junior golf development in Scotland teamed up with a Challenge Tour professional to play the spectacular Aviemore course in the Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-Am.
Preceding the Scottish Hydro Challenge, played over the same course that week, the Pro-Am was a reward for the volunteer coaches who are playing an essential part in the ClubGolf programme.
Blairgowrie Golf Club, who have been offering ClubGolf coaching for the first time this year, emerged victorious. Accompanied by Welsh professional Kyron Sullivan, Blairgowrie’s Phil McKenna, Stuart Graham and Rodney Neil came in with a better-ball score of 60.
Jackie Davidson, ClubGolf Manager, said: “It was a great opportunity for ClubGolf to recognise and give something back to our volunteer coaches who work so hard for the good of junior golf in Scotland. It was a fantastic day out on a wonderful course.”
